The one where I'm a working woman...

I'm officially a working woman! I even have business cards to prove it, see...

I'm not posting this to "sell" the product or business on anyone. I want to document the start of this new amazing journey I'm starting. 

I own my own business with a company called Nerium. It's an all natural skin care line.

I would NEVER have seen myself owning my own business especially not one in "sales"!

A few months ago Kristel told me about this company with a product that gets rid of wrinkles, discoloration, shrinks pores, tightens loose skin, lessens cellulite etc. I was really skeptical and just told her I wanted to wait. I wanted see if she excelled, before I decided whether or not to join. (which in hind sight is ridiculous! Why would I base my ability to succeed on whether someone else did or not. That's like me saying I'm going to fail a test just because someone else has). I'm naturally a very skeptic person of things like this. I have been known to miss out on great opportunities because of this (i.e. going to the 2002 Olympics with my high school). She let it drop and once I moved back to UT she invited me to come to a Nerium get together at Stacie's house (who had now joined the company as well). I mainly went to support her. Not because I was actually interested in joining or even using the products, no matter how well they worked. I left the party with some product to try(yes they let me try it before buying), but was also pretty impressed. Not just in the products, but the company. It's not a traditional "MLM". (let me just note that I have tried a couple other MLM's and hated them! I wasn't successful and felt completely alone in figuring out how to run my business. The exact opposite of my experience with Nerium). Honestly, it was the REAL opportunity to earn an iPad and Lexus that intrigued me. haha. I wanted a Lexus! :) Plus they don't recommend selling or pushing the product or company on people. It's not for everyone and they know that. They tell you to let the product sell itself. Then if someone is interested, you use another person/tool to help answer their questions. They're literally just out there to introduce amazing products and business opportunity to those that want it. I LOVED that! I'm not a sales person, let alone a pushy one. It's way out of my comfort zone! So to learn that I didn't have to do that to be successful, it was HUGE!

It took me 4 months to finally sign up, but I eventually came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to miss out on yet ANOTHER opportunity just because of my skepticism. (I will say that this skepticism has saved me on more than one occasion. So making this decision didn't come lightly).


I'm still really new at this, but I LOVE having a few non mom related things to do. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my kids and being a mom! It's just nice to do something for me and also my family's financial well being. I may only be doing this part time, but that's what's so great about it. I can still do all the things I love: be there for my kids, spend time with my family, relax with my husband at the end of the day, take our dog on walks, go to play group, be involved in my kids' extra curricular activities, even stay up all night with my kids who are both throwing up (which just so happened to be our trial yesterday). I can put as much time and effort into this as I want, but yet still be successful. I'm so so excited to do this. I'm making amazing new friends and am learning so much about myself.
