Lost
I have apparently lost my scrapbooks. Yes thats right, the things you're supposed to keep forever to show your kids. I don't know how I managed to do this, but I'm rather upset. I'm hoping that Jon actually knows where they are and I just can't seem to find them. I've looked in our storage room, all 3 bedrooms even places I know they aren't (like the laundry room, under the stairs, the kitchen cabinets etc) I'm so sad. I hope they turn up somewhere. Almost ALL of my baby pictures are in these scrapbooks. :(

4th of July
Well now that its almost the 24th of July, I figured I better post what we did on the 4th. To start things off we had breakfast at Delectas, which was so yummy. Thank you Lexy! Then Jon went and played with Bryce for a little bit and I caught up with my family who had decided to go tubing down the Virgin River. Me, Steph and Kristel picked a spot down river and waited for them to get there. We didn't want to go tubing the with babies or in Stephs case cause she's preggo. I got a few pictures of Taegen playing in the water/mud. He loved it!
Then we had Jon's going away party (pictures to come soon. I need to get them from my father in law first) at the splash pad in Washington Fields. All our family and friends were there and it was so nice to get together one last time before he left. Jon and Bryce had a bottle rocket war...nerds. But at least they had fun.
Mark and JaRene offered to stay at home and watch Taegen, or should I say just stay in the house because he was sleeping. But we appreciate it none the less. So we went out for one last time. We went to Menchies and then watched the fireworks on the roof of the building next to Menchies. It was a pretty good spot. Some stupid people in the parking lot next to us started a fire. It got pretty big, but they were able to put it out so no fire truck was needed. But we did move our vehicle away from those idiots.
Here's us on the roof, Jon's being a goof, of course. Sorry the pictures are backwards

My sexy soldier!
I got to talk to Jon today...twice!! It was so nice. I know I shouldn't get use to it since communication is going to drop to almost nothing. But I'm loving that I still get a few texts and/or phone calls through out the day. He is doing really good. A little home sick though. It's really hard for him to be away from us, especially Taegen. I think just knowing that he won't be home for 6 months makes a difference. Because last year at this same time I just left him out in Illinois and he didn't get home sick.
Right now he's just in the processing stages (I forgot the actually name of what they call it) But just getting paperwork filled out, uniforms made, hair cuts, etc...
Actual basic training starts on Monday so he'll have a permanent unit and then he'll either call or write with his address so we can send him letters. I asked him if he's made any friends and he said a few, but it's hard because everyone looks the same and it's hard to tell people apart. haha
He's got a total of 2 hours of sleep since Tuesday. They have to get up at 3 or 4 am every morning so he's just a little sleep deprived. The first night they didn't get finished with everything until 4am and they had to be up at 4:30!! Then last night he didn't get to bed til 1 and got up at 3! Talk about sleep deprivation if I've ever heard it. But tonight they got done on time (9pm) so he called me and we talked for a half an hour or so and then he went to bed. To hopefully get a good night sleep.
He gets him immunizations tomorrow :( that he's not looking forward to. And we're hoping that he doesn't get sick from them. If so, he gets held behind until he gets better. This is why he's not getting his teeth fixed until either AIT or even not until he gets home. He has really bad teeth and will need to have at least one tooth pulled so he doesn't want to get behind while he waits for his mouth to heal.
So far no one's even noticed his thumb. Which is a good thing! I forgot to ask him how it's doing, but hopefully all will continue to go well and he'll be able to use it starting monday. Like I said, he doesn't want to get held back a week for any reason.
Thats a mini update for now. More coming on our last weekend together/4th of July

Found these cute pictures
I found these pictures on Jons phone from a while back. Taegen just looks so cute I couldn't not post them.
Look ma, I'm so high
Grandma was deep cleaning her house and got the ladder out to dust the fan off and Taegen was just a little jealous. He was trying to climb to the top the whole time it was out. So finally Jon put him on it and of course he loved it!
Water and the lack there of
T loves water. He was having a blast playing with grandpas new sprinklers
We were at Jon's family reunion and he must have gotten a little bored just playing with us.
Can you spot his little head? Whats the problem with this picture?...
theres no water in the pool. Does he care?
He sure doesn't. And that would explain his "Whats the big deal/confused" face
Dump Truck
Jon bought this truck for Taegen's birthday, to go along with his blocks. He's just recently starting to like the truck. He pushes it around, but his favorite thing is to sit in it.
Me and Jon...finally
Here's some pics of me and Jon
cute I know
What a stud.
We took some pictures of Jon before he had to shave his facial hair (after pictures coming soon)
Mommy and Taegen
snuggly
Taegen doesn't like to snuggle very often, so when he does we take advantage
He's just so cute when he sleeps
Cafe Rio
I don't get Cafe Rio very often, but when I do I always like to save some for leftovers. This time, it wasn't me that got to eat it :( At least he enjoyed himself
More Taegen...again
My son is such a goof ball.
Pondering....
and pondering a little more
He was carrying the bowl around with his mouth.
(Look at the mess he's made)
Jons Thumb
Last Tuesday Jon's thumb got caught in a skill saw at work. I know, perfect timing! Luckily his recruiter said he can still go to basic training this Tuesday. He went straight to the InstaCare and all they did was wrap it up and send him on his way with the recommendation to keep neosporin on it. Luckily my family has just a little knowledge in herbs and what to do in situations like this :) What we did...he put Cayenne pepper on it followed by a Complete Tissue and Bone sauve. I know you must think we're crazy. Why would anyone put cayenne pepper on a huge cut like this, but it's working wonders.
Day 1
Day 5
No infection,
less thumb missing,
and it's already itchy and tingly like it does when it's healing.
Herbs are amazing!!!!!!

Story time
Taegen absolutely loves books, one in particular Elmo's mother goose. If he finds this book, he'll instantly pick it up and walk over to me or Jon and hand it to us then ask to be picked up so he can sit on our laps. If we're sitting on the floor, after he hands it to us he'll turn around and back up until he reaches us then just plop himself down and wait for us to start reading. Its too cute. Theres a story with some of the Sesame street monsters and every time he sees it he gives the big pink monster a kiss :)
Daddy and Taegen reading the book
Here he got a little distracted by daddys sucker and was kindly asking daddy to share
I give him the book in the car and it's a sure fire way to keep him quiet.
He doesn't even mind that it's upside down ;)
