False labor

I had false labor last night and boy does it suck. We went out to a nice dinner at Anasazi Steak house last night and all through dinner I was having contractions. I knew they weren't "real" contractions yet but thought maybe they could turn into them. I didn't say anything to Jon until after we left and I was still having them. The continued all the way home and finally by 9 or so I decided to start timing them. They still weren't painful but I thought they were starting to become a little more consistent, which turns out I was right. They were coming any where from 5-8 minutes apart. By 10:30 I decided to try to get some sleep but we were both getting really excited. I really thought that they were going to start getting harder and turn into real labor. I couldn't sleep. I was excited/anxious, but also still afraid that they were going to stop. Next thing I know I wake up and its a little after 12. I freaked out a little thinking they had stopped. I waited a little bit and they came back. They were even a little stronger than before I had fallen asleep. I was able to fall back asleep a little more reassured. Then I wake up again at 1 and they had for the most part stopped :( Holy DEPRESSING!

Now it's 8am (5 days past due) and I'm sitting on my couch feeling random contractions again. Seriously?! Why couldn't they have just continued? So annoying. Now I'm even more depressed then I was yesterday, which mind you I didn't really think was possible. I know having these types of contractions are good. They are preparing my body and blah blah blah. That doesn't make having them consistently for over 5 hours then them going away any easier. Hopefully they'll eventually turn into "real" contractions and I can get this baby out!!!

Professional fort maker

Jon is our professional fort maker. He made all sort of crazy forts growing up. The other day he decided that it was time to make Taegen his first one. It turned out pretty cool and Taegs loved it! He set it all up, we popped some popcorn and watched a movie before bedtime. We even blew up an air mattress so we didn't have to lay on the floor.
Just look at the grin on his face!

40 weeks!

I've officially made it. And boy am I ready to meet her. The doc has stripped my membranes 3 times and of course it hasn't done anything. I'm a firm believer in that not working unless your baby is already ready. The first 2 times my doc did it I didn't even know that he had. I went to the doc yesterday and I was only dilated to a 1 :( and he said her head just isn't far enough down into my pelvis to put very much pressure on my cervix to help me dilate. This makes me nervous. That is exactly what happened with Taegen and I wouldn't progress past a 4 1/2. I'm hoping I won't have another excruciatingly long labor again. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore though. Jon hates feet (as do I) so I've been having to give myself foot massages all day today (go ahead and feel bad for me) :) I also looked up the pressure points that help induce labor and I've been pushing those as well. Other than that I think that's about all I can do on my end. She just needs to decide to come out. Preferably sooner rather than later...like TODAY!!

I had my house all cleaned and ready for labor, then obviously I didn't go into labor. Now it's a mess again. Taegen makes it near impossible for me to keep a clean house while being 40 weeks pregnant. Plus, this time around I've been more depressed about not having gone into labor. I guess I kind of assumed that since I started having contractions with Taegs on my due date that there was a good chance of me starting labor even earlier this time around. Obviously not too early, but I was hoping for 2-3 days early. Last time I had the mind set that my due date wasn't until a week later. So when the contractions started on time I was completely shocked. I haven't had that mind set this time around. And obviously I should have. Jon just kept saying that she'd come early and as much as I didn't want to let myself believe him I slowly did. Yesterday was absolutely terrible for me. After hearing from the doc that there was no change in my cervix from 1 1/2 weeks before I literally almost burst into tears. I tried so hard to hold them in until I got in my car. The rest of the day was depressing. We did go see the new batman movie to try to cheer me up. (I really like it by the way) The only thing thats kept me thinking positive was that my sister told me she was never more than 2 centimeters dilated before she went into labor. So MAYBE just MAYBE I won't be a week + over due. Pray that this baby comes soon before I turn into a weeping wicked witch of the west.

Last woman standing

Out of all the women I know that were pregnant and due at/around the same time as me, I am officially the only one left who hasn't had her baby :(
Talk about depressing! I can think of 5 friends of mine (just off the top of my head, I know theres more) who have gotten the wonderful blessing to meet their baby already. I know she'll come when she's ready and with my family that tends to be 40+ weeks. Taegen was born at 40 weeks 2 days. Right now I am at 39 weeks 5 days. If she stays in as long as Taegen did I have until Monday. And if that is the case, I just hope and pray that I don't go into labor on Sat night and have another 2 day labor. (Under 10 hours this time please. Ok Ok, I can stretch it to 15, but thats my max!) :) Both of my sisters 2nd (& 3rd & 4th) babies came earlier than their previous ones, so I've really been holding on to the idea that I actually could go into labor any day now. But every day that passes with only feeling minimal braxton hicks contractions, is another day I know I won't be meeting my daughter. With Taegen I didn't feel any contractions until I was actually in labor, so feeling something I know is a good sign. It just gets my hopes up when I know it shouldn't since you can feel bh contractions for months before actually going into labor.

I know I really don't have anything to complain about. I'm able to get pregnant and carry full term. She doesn't have any major health problems. I just hate this waiting game! I wish I was one of those women who had their babies 2 weeks early. But like I said, my family tends to be cursed as good incubators for our babies. They like to take their sweet little time in getting here. To stay positive I try to think that its just my mom up in heaven trying to spend as much time with them as she can before she has to send them down here to us.
"Mom...you've had your share, its my turn :)"

It doesn't help that because of the accident we only have 1 car and Jon has to take it to work, leaving me stuck at home every day. Stupid insurance companies are being very difficult and it will probably be weeks before we get a rental car, none the less the actual money for the truck. The adjuster came out and said the truck is totaled (which we knew it would be) but now they won't claim liability for the accident until they do some more investigating into what actually happened. UGH! Talk about bad timing. We're just hoping that I don't go into labor while Jon is in stg working or worse even further away (tomorrow he has to go to mesquite all day). As much as I want to go into labor asap, I also want to be able to get to the hospital in time. Maybe I'll end up getting the home birth that I wanted all along. haha. Although I don't think Jon would be too excited about having to be the one to deliver the baby if that was the case.

Talk about bad luck!

Yesterday, last minute we decide we are going to go up to my family reunion on Kolob a day early. Jon had been working on the truck to make sure it would make it up the mountain and he got done a lot earlier than I thought he would. I knew how much he wanted to take Taegen camping so I made him get a double high air mattress so me being 9 months pregnant wouldn't suffer from sleeping on the ground :) We rushed and got all of our stuff packed and off we went. As we were leaving I realized I hadn't gone to the bathroom. Well you see this was proving to be a problem. Our truck has a 6'' lift on it and you can literally feel every single bump in it. Add to that the fact that baby girl was smashing down on my bladder I requested we stop at the gas station. As we were pulling out we literally get 200 ft down the road and a lady that is stopped at a stop sign decides to pull out in front of us.
Don't ask me how she missed the HUGE truck driving down the road blocking her way, but obviously she did. Someone at the scene told me she said she was blinded from the sun.
Jon swerved to the left to miss her (thinking that direction would be the best since if she had stopped like a normal person we would have plenty of room to go around her instead of ramming into the back of her if we had gone right) but of course the old lady just keeps going! Who does that?! No lady, you are not going to out run us. I can't believe she even tried! Well she ended up hitting our front passenger side tire. Luckily she hit us and not the other way around. If we would have t-boned her she would have gotten way injured since our truck has such a high lift. But instead we barely felt much of the impact, thank heavens! The truck is jacked up though. It didn't look near as bad as her car did (her whole front end was smashed in) but Jon thinks its going to be totaled. The axel is bent and smashed the tire into the cab. The passenger door wouldn't open. He also said the frame is gone. (Can I just say how nice it is to have a husband who knows about this stuff!) The tow truck guy couldn't even steer the truck enough to get it loaded on the tow bed. He literally was able to move it like 10 ft and only to the right. It wouldn't turn to the left at all!
Don't mind my face in the pic...

Now we're just trying to figure out all the insurance crap which is proving to be rather difficult since we can't seem to get the police report since its a saturday. Plus the officer never gave us the other ladys insurance information! So now we probably have to wait until monday to get that which means no car rental for us until then. UGH! I'm super pissed that the officer didn't give us her info. Jon was too pissed to think straight and I was rather shaken up and trying to deal with Taegen so neither one of us remembered to get it from him before we left. So it is partly our fault as well, but it's not our job to remember stuff like that it's his! So yes, I'm completely blaming him for this one.
Luckily we were driving the truck and not our Explorer or I would have gotten injured probably pretty bad. So that is something positive to focus on. Taegen did so good too. This was his first car accident and one of his first responses is "mom are you ok?" How cute! I know he got a little scared but he calmed down rather quickly. We always put his seat in the middle so just in case we get in an accident he his less likely to get injured. As we were just sitting there we let him out of his seat and he was just roaming around the cab of the truck eating all the mambas that I had just bought at the store for the car ride up. "Look mom, I found another one!" Silly boy. Gotta love the positive outlook of a toddler :)

Stacie's bachelorette party

Stacie got married yesterday :) Hopefully I'll get a few pics of it and post them. But a couple days ago we had her bachelorette party and went down to vegas. Kimi had a 2 free night stay at Planet Hollywood so we figured we'd take advantage and us it :) It was Stacie, Kristel, Kimi, Elon, Stacies friend Olivia and myself. (Stephanie just recently moved to North Dakota and was unable to make it back for the wedding. That's why she wasn't there).
Me and Kristel drove down together and arrived around 3. After a little mishap with the cleaning ladies (Long story short: the bed had a wet spot on it from some spilled water and it was mistaken for pee. So they had to do a black light test on it. Obviously no bile showed up so we weren't forced to by a new mattress...Phew!). We all got ready and headed over to the Bellagio buffet. The food was awesome. They were awesome with the fact that I can't eat garlic. I told our server and she brought the chef out and he took me around and told me what I could and couldn't eat. He even had them make me my own sauce-free pizza! Well worth the $30 it cost to get in.
After we ate we headed back up to the room and Elon had a whole bunch of minute-to-win-it games planned (all the activities had to be completed in under 60 seconds). It was so much fun. Elon went all out! (thanks Elon) Here's some pics of the crazy stuff we had to do.
The bandanas we were sporting were our team colors. Teams were: me and Kimi, Stacie and Elon and Kristel and Olivia
suck up a plate full of M&Ms and drop them off on the plate behind us in the shape of a smiley face.
Finished product for Kimi Stacie and Olivia
Mine, Kristel and Elon's smileys. I dropped a m&m on the floor so I didn't pass, hence the frowny face :(
We had to tie this stocking to our head with a ball in the end of it and knock over some water bottles without using our hands.
side note, look at my 38 week belly! Boy am I ready to have this baby

Here we had to put an oreo on our foreheads and move it down to our mouth without using our hands. Kimi had just successfully completed it. Kristel obviously was having some issues :)
Stack 6 dice on the end of a popsicle stick. It's slightly harder than it looks

Stack 5 apples on top of each other. IMPOSSIBLE! ok maybe not so much, but it is when the table you're using isn't quite level.
Kristel and Elon (the last 2 to play mind you) were smart enough to do it on the floor and the were actually able to do it. Guess the floor is a little bit more level than our card table :)
This one we all thought was impossible. Turns out it's not.
We had to throw cards at the watermelon and get it to stick in it. I wish I could have gotten a pic with the card sticking out. It was actually pretty cool.
Put together a puzzle pictures of Stacie and Jeremy
Pull out all the tissues in a tissue box with only one hand
We tied the empty tissue boxes around us and put in 10 ping pong balls. We then had to shake them out. It was super funny to watch. I got a couple videos, but to save us from embarrassment and the horror of you guys watching a 9 month preggo woman try to "shake it like it's hot", I've decided to only post these 2 pictures. (You're welcome everyone :) )

Our team member had to hold a roll of tissue paper while we spun around and wrapped the whole roll around ourselves without breaking it. I was dizzy for like an hour afterwards. haha
Kristel was the overall winner. Here she is with her present trying to be "gangsta" haha
and here she is again sporting her team colors (long after the games had ended) in a very unusual manner. I just thought she looked rather silly so I had to take a pic.
And here is the end result of all the tissue and toilet paper. Kimi and Kristel had to sleep on the floor so they decided to use this for some cushioning. I don't think it was very comfortable for very long.

All in all it was a success. We all had a lot of fun. I ended up crashing early (12:30 vegas time) and everyone else stayed up and played a little longer. Being super fat and preggo just puts a slight damper on the fun I was able to have. But I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. How could I not with all these fun games and no kids! (shout out to my wonderful husband, mother and sister in law who watched Taegs I could have a fun night out.

Starting them young

Jon has a major love for guns and has already started instilling that in T as well. We took him with us when we went last week and he loved it, except for the part of having to wear ear plugs. He kept trying to take them off. Jon let him shoot his 22, which Jon likes to say is a glorified BB gun. Of course Jon was with him the whole time. And during the times he wasn't shooting he was sitting on the car with me...closely supervised.

And heres just one of me and the little guy with our sunglasses
