Vacation Time!

My family went to Duck Creek this past weekend and stayed there for 2 days and went sleding and snow mobiling. We all had a blast. Here's some pics of the weekend.

My Dad made a path around the sledding hill, and the boys had
a race to see who could complete it the fastest. Here's Jon just
finishing the run.

It's absolutely beautiful up there!

SHOES!!!

So I figured I'd let you all know, that on March 2nd I'm having a Shoe Party! That's right, shoes! The shoes are all super cute, and totally affordable. (between $15-$25) It's put on by BellaSoles, go to http://www.bellasoles.com/ to see last seasons line. My party, however will be the first of the new season. (pictures of the new line should be available soon) Therefore, first pick on everything! They'll have all the sizes, oh and did I forget to mention that they also offer purses and sunglasses!?! They only buy 1 (sometimes 2) of each purse, so you'll also have first dibs on those as well. Making you the only one to have that purse in Southern Utah! :)

The party will be held on Monday March 2nd and 7 pm at my house. Let me know if you'd like to attend, by leaving me a comment with you're e-mail address, and I'll e-mail you directions to my house. I'd love for you all to come.

I'm so excited! It's going to be so much fun!!!!!!!!

Happy Valentines to us!

So this year, we decided not to get each other anything. Figured we could spend our money on more important things. We did go on a date tho. A re-inactment of our first date to be exact :) Jon took me to "his spot" that he use to always go to, to get away and relax. We got panda express, and watched the sunset. It was actually a lot of fun. To get there you have to go up a pretty steep hill, where the vehicle is pretty much sideways. But the view on both sides is beautiful and totally worth the bumpy ride. We see it so often, we start to take for granted the beautiful scenary around us.

He had to get both me and the truck in the shot, go figure. =]

25 things

So here's 25 things about me,

1. I hate seafood!
2. I have a big scar on my right arm from a barbed wire fence.
3. I have to fall asleep facing the edge of the bed. I can't face Jon. :)
4. I got in a car accident with a semi-truck on the freeway that should have killed me and all inside.
5. I can move my 3 middle toes sideways.
6. I was born in Denmark.
7. I've traveled all over Europe.
8. My hair is so thin that it's impossible for me to grow it out longer than my shoulders.
9. I don't drink milk
10. Nor do I eat red meat.
11. I don't like doctors (unless 100% necessary) and try to heal naturally with herbs instead.
12. When I have kids, I'm going to use a midwife.
13. I'm very stubborn, and can argue with you until we're both blue in the face.
14. I don't like to be wrong.
15. I have a really weird habit, that everytime I wash my hands after going to the bathroom, I spit in the sink. I have no idea why, but I do.
16. I'm literally a mut. I'm 1/2 Danish, 1/4 German, and 1/4 American. (going back to only my grandparents)
17. When I got married, I gained a daughter. haha ok not really, just a great dane. But Jon treats her like his daugher.
18. I can't whistle. I've tried so many times, and had numerous people try to teach me, but it's a lost cause.
19. I can't frown.
20. When focusing on something, my face looks like I'm upset. My whole life I've had people think I was glaring at them, or that I was just plain mean, even though the expressions are completely accidental. I'm not doing it on purpose. It got the point that people would jusy say "Kristina, your face" and I'd just laugh and apologize.
21. I absolutely love a few tv shows : Friends, One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy and Prison Break (and can, have, and will watch them over and over again)
22. I have the best husband in the world! For reasons that would make a list too long to put on here.
23. My mom died in a car accident when I was 19. And may I say that life is a lot harder without your mom. But I've gotten to the point that I can truly say I'm ok with it, and I can't wait to see her again.
24. My family is truly amazing. Not only my little family, but my dad and sisters as well. I thank the Lord every day for the amazing people they all are.
25. I got lucky, my husbands family is just as amazing as mine is!

Well if you got to the end, you must be as bored as I was when I did this :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON!

Happy birthday Babe. I love you!
Last night we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Jon's family to celebrate his birthday. And as you probably remember, they have a lovely saddle that they make people sit on when it's their birthday :) So you guessed it, Jon had to sit on the "horse" as he called it. He was not very happy about it though. But he eventually got into it. Just one of the many reasons why I love him so much.

Car Accident

On Saturday me and Jon got in a car accident. We're both ok, just have whip lash. But luckily we were driving his truck, or we would have been in a lot worse condition. We were rear ended by a drunk driver in a Lexus, going about 40 miles an hour while were were stopped waiting to make a left turn. The axle on the truck is completely bent, and we're worried about the frame of the truck being screwed up. And for you mechanically illeterate people, (don't feel bad, i'm the same way, Jon had to explain it to me) you're probably thinking... how can a small vehicle screw up the frame of a big huge truck, well it's because since we were hit so hard, the front bumper shifted and is now hanging slightly lower than the other side. And the bumper is what's connected to the frame of the truck.

Well Jon's pretty upset. His truck was like his 3rd wife. Yes, I said 3rd wife. He says he has 3 women in his life; Me, Aja (his great dane), and his truck. And now he's lost a wife. haha. But here's some pics of the damage.

I dunno if you can tell, the but back tire is slightly twisted as well.
The right side has a larger gap, directly below the lights.

Christmas and New Years

Christmas was great. We spent it mostly with my family this year, even though I don't have pictures to prove it. But we did the traditional Christmas Eve shindig, opened all our presents and had our yummy Danish dinner. Everyone pitched in and it turned out delicious! Since my family did our stuff on Christmas Eve, we were able to go to Jon's parents house for Christmas morning after we had our own Christmas. We then met at my dad's for our Christmas lunch. Then both of our families decided to go see "Marley and Me". Which was super cute.

Since this year was with my family, the Evertsen's did their family stuff the day before Christmas Eve, or as Jon would say, Christmas Adam, since adam came before Eve and all :) We made Gingerbread houses, and mine and Delectas was the best, it may have looked the most like the cover of the box, but it was still the prettiest. Until it was so rudely smashed by James.

New Years Eve was fun. We spent some time at my bro in law, James' house. Then we went and watched the fire works up on the Dixie hill. We found our own secluded spot and enjoyed the view from the back of our truck with lots of blankets and hot chocolate.

The day after New Years we went to my sister Stephanie's house and played some games, including the marshmallow game. The guys went first and had to put 10 marshmellows in their mouth and say a saying, while we guessed. Then the girls went with 7 marshmellows. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time, tears were streaming down my face. Hilarious

Me and Lexy with our fabulous house

Before After :(

The flash was really bright, so we decided that not looking at the camera would
turn out better than a picture with closed eyes. haha
Perfect example of the bright flash. Jon in the back of the truck, waiting for the fireworks.

Adam attempting to talk to Stephanie, but he was laughing to hard it wasn't working.

Needless to say, it was near impossible to decifer the word they were trying to say

We only had 7 marshmellows. Notice all of us have stuffed mouths but yet still have marshmellows in our hands. haha

Snow Day!

So the snow day was a little while ago, but I've been busy trying to finish making Christmas gifts. Sorry it's a little late, but here's our pics from that day.

Jon got up really early and made us two snowmen. And when he was done, he woke me up and we went and "decorated" them. It was so cute. We used red and blue Christmas lights for the eyes, a twix candy bar for the noses and rocks for the mouth, oh and metal sticks that Jon had laying around in the garage, for the arms. They only lasted 1 day though, cuz some stupid kid came and ran over them...it was so sad.

Mine on the left and Jon's on the right. :)

I have no idea what he's doing, but then again, that's Jon
for ya. haha, gotta love him

Christmas Letter 2008

I've seen a couple people post their christmas letter on their blog, and I think it's a really good idea, so here's mine...
Well first off let me say, Merry Christmas! I’ve never written a Christmas letter before, but I figure it’s a tradition I can start now that I’m starting my own family. So I guess I’ll start where our story begins.
Earlier this year my dad went to an emotional growth seminar through Turning Leaf. After it was over he couldn’t stop ranting and raving about how great it was and how much it helped him. So a couple months later my sisters and I went to the same class. Well, Jon’s mom was working with Turning Leaf and both his parents had previously attended the seminar and had been trying to get Jon to go for quite some time. Needless to say we met at the seminar and quickly became friends. After dating for 4 short months we got engaged, and were married 6 weeks after that on November 7, 2008.
We’re enjoying married life and can’t wait to be sealed in the St George Temple in 2009. We’re looking forward to kids in our future, maybe in the near future :) but for now Jon’s Great Dane, Aja, is keeping us plenty busy.
Jon just started working at Deseret Labs in their warehouse as a pharmacy tech. He was working with a decorative concrete company but since construction has almost come to a complete stop, he had to find a job elsewhere. He wants to go to school in the near future and get a degree in Psychology so he can work with troubled youth as a drug and alcohol counselor.
I’m still working at SouthWest Federal Credit Union, as a Consumer Loan Processor. I enjoy it, but would also like to go back to school and get my degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Social Work or Psychology. Unfortunately, we’d have to move to go to a bigger University and for now, we’d really like to stay in Southern Utah.
Well I think that about sums up what’s going on in our lives. We hope all is going well with you. Merry Christmas and we wish you all a happy and prosperous new year, and we’d love to see you all at our sealing.

Love
Jonathan and Kristina Evertsen

Honeymoon, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new niece all in one

So it's been a while since I've updated on the things going on, so this one's gonna be a little longer that usual. First things first, here's some pics from our honeymoon in Park City, which was awesome.

What a beautiful place!

Our snowman Billy :)

Me making a snow angel

Us laying in the snow, after we made our snowman.

Jon had never been to a Zoo so we decided to go to Hogle Zoo for his first zoo experience.
We both loved it.

Jon's first time seeing an elephant in real life.

Jon and I with the Giraffes.

Downtown Park City on walking strip.

Jon loves sunflower seeds, so my goal was to atleast fill one water bottle up with seeds.
And I did it. One is mine and the other is only one of Jons. He's a little better at it than I am :)

Here's what the truck looked like.

Next on my list was Thanksgiving. We went up north and spent the day with Jon's extended family. I got to meet a lot of new people. But the bad thing was I had to work both Wednesday and Friday. So we drove up Wednesday night and came back home Thursday evening. But we still enjoyed ourselves and the food.

Heres me and Jon with his niece Avaree.

Jon and Avaree. Isn't she just so cute.

My birthday! The big 22. Well we didn't do a whole lot that day because we were attending a 3 day emotional growth seminar thru Turning Leaf (yup, the same one we met at, except this one was Level 3). But the people in the group found it was my birthday, and sure enough this is what happened...

It was quite embarassing, but it was still fun.

After seminar that day, we went to wal mart, and we found a little red wagon. Well I got in and Jon gave me a little ride around the store, until a grumpy old employee saw me and said "I think you're too big for that!" So I had to get out. But it was fun while it lasted.

Christmas time is finally here! It took me a little while to get all my house decorations up. But I finally did it. This is my very first Christmas tree, and I must say I'm pretty proudof it :) Here's my family with the tree.

My Christmas Tree

This year we went through all my moms old Christmas decorations, and split them up between us 5 girls. Well my mom had a pretty large village collection going. So we each got a couple peices of it to start our own. So here's mine...

And last but not least... my sister finally had her baby. But it's not Stephanies this time, it's Kristel. Her and the baby are doing great. 9 lbs 4 oz 21 1/2 inches long. She's a pretty big baby, but so cute. No name yet, but are choosing between a few, Evelyn or Autumn to name a few. I'll let you know when they pick one.
Me with Baby Girl Lamb

Baby Girl Lamb, just hours old.

Oh and this is totally random, but I came across this picture while i was posting, and decided I'll show you guys my favorite picture of Jon. It's from before I knew him, but I still love it. He's one sexy stud :)
