Jon got the priesthood yesterday! I'm so proud of him. We had stake conference yesterday and we knew he was going to be sustained, but one of the counselors in our ward told us that he wouldn't be ordained until the next Sunday. So we didn't plan anything. As we were sitting in conference, they sustained all those receiving the priesthood, then they told everyones room assignments. Our first thought..."wait, what? Room assignments? Is this happening today? Oh crap!" Jon immediately text his dad and told him he MIGHT be getting ordained today, but since we were right in the middle of conference there was no way for us to verify. Luckily they passed the word along to his family, and by the time I was able to call my dad, he was already headed up Apple Valley so he was just a few minutes away.
Sorry to those of you that would have liked to come but missed it. We would have loved to have you there if we would have been given a bit more notice. None the less, it was a great experience and I'm so glad that Jon has gotten to this point. Next step...April 16th temple session here we come! Then hopefully not too long after that (pending my sealing cancellation) we'll be sealed for time and all eternity in the St George Temple!

What a night
Wow I feel exhausted! So much has happened within the last 24 hours....
Good news first
Taegen can stand himself up without holding on to anything.
Jon says he's been able to do this for some time now, but I haven't seen it
until this morning. I'm so proud!!! :)
T is also getting his first molar.
Why is this a good thing you ask, teething is normally terrible!
That's just it, he's not fussy at all. The only reason we even
noticed it was because Jon has tickeling him while he was laying down
so we were able to see his top gums. So nice to
not have a way fussy child over teething! I'm
jumping for joy inside, really i am.
Me and Jon made a deal yesterday, He gets to get his concealed handlers permit and I get to buy a new wedding dress for when we get sealed!! I'm so excited!! I don't really like my old one, so I'm so excited Jon agreed to let me spend the money on getting one I really like. I have to save up for it, but it'll so be worth any sacrifice I'll have to make. YAH!!!!!

Ok on to the bad news...
Taegen threw up 3 times last night. :(
I feel so bad because he must have thrown up for the first time shortly after going to bed
(he goes to bed at 7:30) and I didn't notice until he woke up
at 12:00. And by then it was all over the place and DRY! Poor little guy
had been rolling around in it for who knows how long.
Anyways, so I picked him up and started to nurse him (I thought that he threw up from crying to hard)
and low and behold, shortly after he throws up again, but this time all over me too.
I take him into the bathroom to put him in the tube and theres a centipede crawling around in the bathtube!
GROSS!! I HATE centipedes!
So Jon heres me freaking out (and mind you waking him up is difficult to do since he's
such a heavy sleeper) and he comes and kills the disgusting creature for me.
I get Taeg cleaned up and of course he'll only fall back asleep if I'm holding him, but theres
throw up on the lounger in his room, so my only option is the couch so I don't
wake up Jon again (he had work early this morning). After an hour he
finally falls back to sleep. So I am now able to get in the shower
myself. By the time I get back to bed I'm awake and unable
to fall back asleep. I finally do, only to be woke up once more shortly
after. Luckily Taeg didn't wake all the way up and was able to put himself back
to sleep without me. But he did wake up at 4:30 and of course he was
hungry, but I didn't dare feed him. So it was another battle getting
him back to sleep. 5:30 I'm finally able to get to sleep again.
Taegen wakes up for the day at 7:30 and when i go in there,
theres throw up in the crib again. Luckily its not very much this time.
He hasn't throw up since and he's nursed and had water, but I'm so mad. Of course he gets
sick on the one day I have a whole bunch of things planned.
(sorry we had to reschedule our play date Jess)
No garage sale hunting for me this morning, or
going to the adult session of stake conference. President Holland
is speaking and we have special "tickets" to sit in the front row. Looks like Jon's going
alone tonight, and hopefully Taegen will be better so I can go tomorrow.
I've never seen an apostle in person so I was really looking forward to going :(
Last but not least, I took my temple clothes out last night while me and Jon we're having a discussion about what happens in the temple (our stake president told me to show him and give him a heads up) Since Jon'll be getting his endowments out SO soon :) This is not the bad news (of course) I got my dress out and there were brown spots all over it and my slip and shoes :( I tried to wash them out, but to no avail. I now need a new one. This is the one I wore at my moms funeral (we all wore white to symbolize our eternal family) So it kind of had a special meaning, but now it's no good. :(

Ok enough of the pity party. Props if you made it all the way through.

Apples are my favorite!
Ok maybe not, I still like Bananas more. But munching on an apple all day is so much fun.
sour face!
This is the face he gives when I tell him no...haha (he was trying to eat the orange peel)
Oranges are yummy too
I gave up my apple and orange for the real prize, mamas phone!
Oh and did I mention I like to take them with me while I drive in my new big boy seat :)
I even like to sleep with them..can you see it?
Here let me zoom in for you...
Yes this is an apple. It the end result of a long day of munching
No Grass for me
Just recently Taegen has decided that he doesn't like the grass. Which is really weird since just a couple weeks ago Jon had him out on the grass at church and he loved it. I took him outside the other day and he would not go off the blanket. We even tempted him with chocolate and skittles, but no luck. He wasn't budging. It was pretty funny.
when we put him on the grass, this is what he did.
Tip-toed the whole time.
While we were at Grandmas (this is when we discovered he didn't like grass) he set him down and he would not put his right foot down. His left foot was fine touching the grass, but not his right one.
He's such a goof

11 Months
I can't believe my baby is 1 month away from being 1. Thats just crazy to me.
I just recently posted some random tidbits about T-man so I'll only just add a few more.
-This time change has totally screwed up his sleeping habits. He woke up last night after 3 hours of sleeping and would not go back to sleep. He just cried and cried. All he wanted was to nurse, but it was too early for that so I just had to let him cry. UGH I hate doing that.
-He has decided he hates the grass which is totally weird cause he loved it only a week ago or so. (another post to come with details)
-He says Mama (he's been able to say this for a couple months now I just keep forgetting to mention it)
-His first word was "Hi". He is so friendly that this only makes sense.
-We've heard him say a few other words, such as "mine", "no", "binky" (but of course this one comes out sounding more like ingy) "baba"
-He's taking more and more steps every day. He walked across the whole room for Christina (our babysitter). This, I think, is the biggest downfall of having to have a babysitter...you miss little moments like this. We're so sad we missed such a big milestone. :(
-He loves to empty out the diaper bag and my purse. He does it every time either one is on the floor.
-He blows kisses!
-He ways bye-bye. This looks more like a Hitler salute since he doesn't actually wave his hand but just sticks it out to you.
-He loves books. His favorite is pulling them off the bookshelf. He also loves turning the pages himself.

2nd post with no pics
sorry... I know posts with no pics are not as fun but there is something I want to make sure I remember.
Yesterday morning Taegen woke up and was extra fussy. I nursed him and that still didn't help, so then thinking that he was still hungry I fed him some breakfast. While he was eating he was fine, but the minute I put him down he got fussy again, but it wasn't as bad. So for a while I thought it was just going to be one of those bad days....wrong. He was playing with his toys on the floor, crawling around and would randomly just start crying. So my next thought was maybe he's teething. I checked his gums and thought I could feel a few bumps, so I figured that must be his problem. He kept getting worse so I eventually ended up giving him some pain reliever and cradled him (since that was the only way I could hold him without him crying). I layed down with him like this (which I must admit I kind of enjoyed since he NEVER cuddles anymore) and he eventually.
Oh I forgot to mention that I also thought that maybe something bit him or there was something on his bum since everytime I change him he'd freak out.
I was hoping that he'd feel better when he woke up. Which did not happen. He was just as fussy. I felt so bad that I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I dropped him off at the babysitters and told her the dilemma and asked her to let me know if she figured anything out. About an hour later she text me and said he looked like he was crawling like he pulled a muscle. How in the world would he have pulled a muscle? Nothing had happened yesterday that would have pulled a muscle. I was baffled. But it did make some sense. Then a few hours later I get another text from the babysitter that said while she was changing his diaper his hip popped. And he is no longer crawling funny/slow or being fussy.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Except how in the world does an 11 month old pop his hip out of place? He was fine when he went to bed, so he must have done it in his sleep somehow.
Weird.

Random little tidbits
-Taegen gives hugs by resting his head on any part of your body. He doesn't use his arms, just lays his head down. So cute.
-When I'm nursing, he has to have my arm in between his legs so his foot thats on top can be up on my bicep/shoulder.
-He's being stingy with his kisses. :( I only get them every once in a while now.
-He hates green beans unless they are mixed with rice cereal. Then, and only then will he tolerate them.
-He loves the theme song to Backyardigans. He instantly stops whatever he is doing, stares at the tv, then starts bouncing up and down with a huge grin on his face.
-He has to eat the second he wakes up in the morning or he's super ornery (sp?)
-He loves the babysitter and her girls. Once I set him down, it's like I don't exist anymore. He crawls away, laughing and already enjoying himself. (This makes the fact that I have to drop his off at a babysitter much easier on me).
-He's the biggest mooch. He will go to anyone that has food, and stay with you as long as your still have some to give him. The minute that it's all gone, he's outta there. He did this just the other day with Grandpa E and chips. So funny.
-He still gets so excited to see me when I get home from work. His reaction to seeing me has died down from what it use to be (squealing, laughing, speed crawling to get to me). Now he gets excited and kicks his legs(if being held) and smiles. But if he sees something on his way to crawling towards me, say some sort of food or something he can stick in his mouth, that instantly becomes more important than me. haha
-He loves it when Jon tickles him with his goatee.
That's all I can think of for now.

Great friends, great sisters
A couple weeks ago I got offended due to something some of my friends did. I didn't say anything, or make a fuss over it. In fact I don't even think they know. I just chose to wallow in my own self pity :) It was then that it hit me....why am I letting this bother me so much? I see these friends maybe 1-3 times a year. My best friends aren't the ones I went to school with anymore. Although there are a few of those that I still consider to be great friends. (by the way, Bongos, I loved our little get together the other day. Miss those) My best friends now, are my sisters! We've all grown up and matured. We all may be in different stages of our lives (boyfriends, marriage, kids, jobs etc) But when we get together we can put all our differences aside and have a great time. And no matter what anyone may be going through, we have always been there for one another, helped each other through thick and thin. Funny how we fought so much growing up, but get along so well now. I absolutely love spending time with all of my sisters. Our closeness in age is what makes me want to have my kids close together. Maybe not as close as my mom had us (5 girls in 6 years). But close enough that my kids will be able to have as good of a relationship with each other as I have with my sisters.

Mini Jon
The older Taegen gets, the more he looks (and even acts sometimes) like Jon. I have a feeling he's gonna love cars just like his daddy :) Look how happy he looks when momma lets him "drive"
I was watching Glee one morning and decided to give Taeg another shot at figuring out his walker (He can only go backwards, so he doesn't like to be in it for very long). Everytime they started singing a song, this is what happened.

He would just sit and stare until they were done.
Too cute.
He LOVES music.
And I couldn't resist this one. My son is getting so big and so handsome. :)
